It was in April that Audi India said that they would bring 5 products in 5 months and keeping up to that promise, the company introduced the 2015 RS7 last month. This got us thinking. Mercedes-Benz has been introducing a bunch of AMG products and it was only time Audi answered to the call of the performance enthusiasts in the country.
Audi's next in line in its performance car stable will be the RS6 Avant is all set to launch on June 4. It is the Q7 however, that will be the next new car to be launched in India and a bunch of journalists are already driving one as you read this and reviews will be up soon. However, it's likely that the performance version of the Q7 - the SQ7 - is likely to be launched in India too.

We know this because Audi has already brought the SQ7 to India, for testing that is; but we think that the car will probably be launched in 2016. The SQ7 is based on the second-generation MLB modular-longitudinal platform and will replace the current generation which has been around for a decade.
While specifications are still not known, the imported product comes with a 4.0-litre diesel V8 engine which is likely to churn out close to 450bhp and a monstrous 800Nm of torque. There will be a few changes made to the SQ7 both mechanically and cosmetic which will make us tell it apart from its SUV cousin.
