2016 Auto Expo: Over 1 Lakh Visitors Attend on Monday

The 2016 Auto Expo witnessed around 1.09 lakh visitors on Monday despite it being a weekday. This maintains the fabulous run that the event has being having in terms of attendance after Sunday witnessed a record 1.3 lakh visitors - the highest number ever recorded in one day at the show.
The biennial event was opened to the public at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida on Friday with an expected footfall of around 6 lakh over the course of the 2016 Auto Expo. Day 1 saw around 80,000 people visit the show, followed by 1.12 lakh visitors on Saturday. A total of 1,09,539 footfalls were recorded at the venue on Monday, the penultimate day of the show.

Besides the new, upcoming, and concept variants of cars, 2-wheelers, commercial vehicles , etc. on display, the crowd was also treated to a variety of entertaining acts, stunt shows, and pop-up skits that focused on spreading road safety awareness. Individual pavilions also provided entertainment in the form of video games, virtual reality simulators, and racing simulation games.

Apart from the premium car stalls, the alternative fuel vehicles spread across various stalls also received quite a bit of attention from visitors. The vintage car segment was a huge draw as well.
The merchandise stalls, which sold souvenirs like mugs, back-packs, hats, T-shirts, etc. did brisk business, while the food courts too remained packed throughout as people enjoyed a day out in the sun.

Despite the immense crowd, ample security and staff ensured that the traffic and pedestrian flow remained relatively smooth for an operation of its size. Parking was convenient and shuttle services were provided for those parked far away. Mobility cart services were also provided within the India Expo Mart compound making it easier for the elderly or the disabled to get around.
