Auto Expo 2016: 7 Things You Should Not Miss Out On

1. Ford Mustang (Hall 1)

Assuming you walk in to the India Expo Mart from Gate 1, the first building you enter houses Halls 1, 3, 5, and 7 on the ground floor and 2, 4, 6, and 8 on the 2nd floor. The ground floor is dedicated to cars whereas the 2nd floor is dedicated to 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, and a few accessory manufacturers. Hall 1 is where Ford Motors has set up shop where the Ford Mustang has been put on a grand stand. In fact, the display is so good, that it was adjudged the joint Best of Show 4-Wheelers at the CNB Auto Expo Awards for Excellence along with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The Mustang was unveiled at an event prior to the expo and is now present for the public to gaze at.
2. Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo Concept (Hall 3)
Immediately after Ford's stall is the Hyundai pavilion in Hall 3. Hyundai has showcased a number of vehicles this year including the Genesis G90 luxury sedan. However the centre-fold display piece at Hyundai's enclosure is the slick Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo Concept which, quite literally, sits in the middle of their display area. Hyundai was also given the CNB Auto Expo Excellence Award for Best Interactive Display so be sure to go check out the fun activities that they have in store for visitors.

3. Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette (Hall 5)

Following Hyundai is Hall 5 which houses 2 of the best looking displays of this year's expo: a pristine white Chevrolet Camaro and a bright red Chevrolet Corvette. Both cars are bound to be swarming with adoring fans so try and make it early to beat the crowd and get a good shot! The next hall, Hall 7, is where Maruti Suzuki has set-up camp. The Vitara Brezza and Ignis are both on display and are worth taking a look at. The building finishes after Hall 7, unless you want to go check out some cool new bikes on Level 2 which houses brands like UM, Triumph, Indian, Suzuki, Hero, Benelli, and Honda. Noticeable crowd pullers include the Triumph Thruxton R, Honda NAVi mini-bike, and the range of sports bikes adorning the Yamaha stand. The TVS Akula concept is also worth visiting. Once you exit the building from the exit point at Hall 7, straight ahead on the left is the enclosure which holds Halls 9-12.

4. BMW G 310 R (Hall 10)

BMW G 310 R
Hall 9 houses Japanese carmakers Honda and Toyota of which the latter has showcased the upcoming Innova Crysta, Mirai fuel-cell car, and the new Prius all of which are worth getting a glimpse of. But its Hall 10 which houses what could be an important future addition to the Indian motorcycle industry. Besides unveiling the new 7 Series and X1, BMW also showcased its BMW Motorrad range of motorcycles of which the BMW G 310 R is considered to one of the most important for Indian markets. The G 310 R was designed in collaboration with local manufacturer TVS and is thus speculated to arrive in India later this year. Other pavilions worth visiting while in the same zone includes Jeep and Nissan Datsun the latter of which has showcased the old-school Bluebird rally car, the Nissan GT-R supercar, and the GO-Cross concept.

5. Mahindra XUV Aero Concept (Hall 10)

Close to the BMW pavilion is Mahindra's big showcase of everything from lightweight 2-wheelers to big long-haul trucks. Amidst its passenger cars section is the stunning Mahindra XUV Aero Concept. The concept car has been drawing in a lot of crowd as it may become India's first indigenously manufactured coupe styled SUV. The bright orange concept shows us just how far the Indian UV specialist has come in terms of design. The display car shows lots of gadgets on the inside include tablets mounted on the rear of the front headrests as well as suicide doors. Audi is also present in the same enclosure (Hall 11) where the elegant Prologue Concept has been showcased.
6. Tata Motors Pavilion (Hall 14)

Hall number 12 is dedicated to commercial vehicles with some exciting looking new bus and truck concepts. However if that isn't your cup of tea, move across to the other giant building on the right which includes Halls 14 and 15. The mammoth Tata Pavilion occupies all of Hall 14 and is worth visiting just for its sheer size. Besides the numerous passenger car and new CVs, Tata also has a bunch of interactive zones including a personalisation studio which showcases the company's abilities at customising and personalising vehicles. The Tata enclosure also includes a Jaguar Land Rover section where you can get a glimpse of the British company's new range of products including the newly launched Jaguar XE.

7. Renault Sport R.S. 01 and Eolab Concept (Hall 15)

The last hall at the expo, Hall 15, houses French carmaker Renault. Besides the new Duster AMT and some fantastic looking sporty concepts based on the Kwid, the company also showcased some elaborate eye-candy in the form of the yellow Renault Sport R.S. 01 racecar. The lightweight R.S. 01 isn't the only sportscar at this year's expo though as both Mercedes-Benz and Honda have displayed Formula 1 cars whereas Toyota showcased its hybrid TS040 Le Mans racecar. Besides the R.S. 01, Renault also showed off its highly efficient, groovy and futuristic looking Eolab Concept.
