2017 Land Rover Discovery Prices Announced; Starts At Rs. 68.05 Lakh

Land Rover India has commenced accepting bookings for the upcoming 2017 Discovery that is all set to go on sale later this year. The 2017 Land Rover Discovery now comes with a starting price of Rs. 68.05 lakh (ex-showroom) and are post GST prices. However, with the hike in cess on luxury cars and SUVs proposed, it is likely that customers will have to shell out a little extra over the current asking price on the new SUV range. The 2017 Discovery is all-new and is being positioned between the Discovery Sport and Range Rover line-up in the British marque's stable. The all-new luxury SUV will be launched on October 28, 2017 in the country. Deliveries will commence later in October or early November.

(Land Rover Discovery)
First showcased at the 2014 New York Auto Show, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery is based on the Discovery Vision Concept. This 7-seater family SUV is now in its third generation for the Indian market.
The design of the 2017 Land Rover Discovery continues to feature the traditional stepped roofline, providing ample space inside for the passengers. However, the company has moved away from its boxy design for the 2017 Discovery, in line with its new design concept. (2017 Land Rover Discovery Cabin)
Under the hood, the India-bound Land Rover Discovery will come in the Si6 and TDV6 trims. The supercharged petrol 3-litre V6, that powers the Si6 trim, churns out 335 bhp and develops 450 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the six-cylinder diesel motor on the TD6 trim delivers 254 bhp and peak torque of 600 Nm.

Inside the cabin, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery comes loaded with features like Intelligent Seat Fold technology, central touchscreen, InControl Touch Pro Services. Moreover, the SUV also gets InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, 14-speaker Meridian digital surround system, four 12V charging points and much more. Furthermore, buyers will be able to customise each trim with add ons.

The new generation Land Rover Discovery also get the innovative electric folding and configurable seats for all three rows, which is available on the HSE and and top variants. The SE trim gets powered front row, while the HSE and HSE Lux gets powered front row with the option of electrically adjustable third row seats available. Should you opt for the the 'First Edition', all three rows will gets electrically configurable seats as standard.
With respect to competition, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery will be taking on a host of Europeans including the Volvo XC90, Audi Q7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS in the country when it goes on sale.
