2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift Leaked Ahead Of Official Debut

- The 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift will get semi-autonomous tech
- The new S-Class sports revised bumpers, grille and Multibeam headlamps
- India launch of the new S-Class is expected around the festive season

Updates on the 2017 Mercedes S-Class facelift include revised bumper, grille and lights
On the outside, the 2017 Mercedes S-Class facelift gets visual tweaks with redesigned bumpers, new grille and new Multibeam headlights with three-layered LED DRLs. The rear sports new exhaust finishers and revised tail lamps with LEDs. Inside, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift gets the new three-spoke multi-function steering wheel borrowed from the Coupe version. The all-digital instrument console and infotainment panel have marginally grown on the saloon and looks like a large single panel display now. The centre console has seen slight changes as well, while there will be a host of new features on offer including gesture control and a revised touchpad unit.

The cabin gets subtle tweaks, but will feature more tech upgrades
Other upgrades that likely to be a part of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift include a revised cruise control system with a new autonomous driving function, new COMAND infotainment unit as well as the semi-autonomous parking feature that allows you to park the car using an app on the smartphone. Upgrades will also extend to the trim and upholstery options inside the facelift version.

A new 4.0 litre Bi-Turbo petrol engine will power the 2017 Mercedes S-Class
In addition to the changes, the new Mercedes S-Class facelift will also revised engines under the hood. Reports suggest that a new '560' trim will replace the '550' moniker on the sedan and will be powered by a 4.0 litre V8 bi-Turbo petrol engine that will produce around 469 bhp of power. The motor is more powerful than the 4.7 litre unit it replaces, while also being 12 per cent more fuel efficient. There is also likely to be a new 2.9 litre 6-cylinder diesel engine added to the line-up.

The 2017 Mercedes S-Class will go on sale globally in the third quarter of 2017 and India can expect the model soon after it hits the showrooms internationally. A launch around the festive season is expected with the model being locally assembled, much like the current version. Beyond the saloon, Mercedes will also update the complete S-Class family including the Coupe and convertible versions as well as the more luxurious Maybach grade in the coming months.
