The all-new Suzuki GSX-R1000 and GSX-R1000R were introduced globally late last year and are widely regarded as one of the best litre-class superbikes you can get your hands on. The models were launched in India earlier this year and we too were pretty convinced with the mighty Gixxer's potential. Now, Suzuki has updated the GSX-R1000 and the more powerful GSX-R1000R models for the 2018 model year with both bikes sporting new colour schemes. There are no mechanical changes on the motorcycle for the new year.

The 2018 Suzuki GSX-R1000 gets the new white and black paint schemes. The white colour comes with blue stripes, while the matte black paint gets blue graphics. The higher-spec 2018 GSX-R1000 also gets the white and blue colours but can be differentiated by the body coloured front air intakes and blue fork legs. The 'R' version also comes in gloss black with blue wheels and forks. The colours are a major departure from the manufacturer's usual paint options on the motorcycle and look refreshing too.
Power on the 2018 Suzuki GSX-R1000 continues to come from the same 999 cc in-line, four-cylinder motor that churns out 196 bhp and 117 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox with final chain drive. The supersport comes with six-axis IMU, 10-level traction control and three riding modes.
If you opt for the Suzuki GSX-R1000R, the motorcycle gets additional features including bidirectional quick-shifter and auto-blipper, as well as a Showa balance free suspension. There is also launch control and cornering ABS on offer.
There is no word on when the new colours will be available in India, but Suzuki has been quick bring its premium motorcycles to the country and the new colours can be expected sometime in the first half of 2018. The 2018 GSX is likely to be on display during the next Auto Expo as well.
