There is no doubt about the ability of KTM to make bikes which are mental at best. Going in that direction, the 2019 model of the 1290 Super Duke GT was recently spotted testing in Spain. The company launched the 1290 Super Duke GT in late 2015 and barely two years later, it's already set to receive an update. The bike, as you would have guessed, is basically a Super Duke R with a windscreen and optional panniers. The biggest change is up front where the Super Duke GT gets a new front cowl. The semi-fairing too has been lowered and the windscreen is a new unit as well.

We also believe that the new Super Duke GT will get an auto-blipper along with the quickshifter that it already gets. Other electronic updated might include multiple riding modes as well. The 2019 GT will also get the full-colour TFT instrumentation console which is present on the rest of KTM's 1290 range. Riders will also be able to connect their smartphones to the instrument console via the KTM MyRide function and Bluetooth.

The engine is expected to remain the same, but with a few minor changes inside, which will relax the riding characteristics a bit and make it suited for touring. The cycle parts such as the suspension, brakes and the frame look to be the same on the 2019 model as they are on the current model. The bike will also be conforming to Euro 5 emission norms which come into force in 2020, which means that there could be a little tinkering with the exhaust system.

The bike will continue to get a 1,301 cc V-twin engine which makes a massive 173 bhp and could be expected to launch in Europe towards the end of 2018. We would love for this bike to come to India. If only KTM listens to us.
