- The 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross will launch on September 7.
- The new model gets cosmetic updates and a new body colour.
- The cabin is likely to get a new touchscreen unit and more features.
The Citroen C5 Aircross is one of the most handsome and elegant looking SUVs in India and to further spice things up in the segment, the French carmaker is gearing up to give the SUV a mid-life update, making some revisions in its looks and cabin. The facelifted Citroen C5 Aircross made its global debut at the beginning of the year and will hit our roads on September 7. The company has released a teaser of the 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross and the modifications look similar to what already seen in the global model.
Majority of the changes in its styling is centred on its face. The front bumper is all new featuring a wider air dam that's flanked by new air curtains and the twin-slat grille looks even sleeker now. The LED headlight units too are new and sport the updated V-Shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) and on the lower part you see a new glossy aluminium skid plate. Now the profile and rear of the car will looks largely the same, however, expect to see some revision in its tallight motifs and new design for the 18-inch alloy wheels. The new Citroen C5 Aircross also adds a new color called Eclipse Blue.
The teaser video also reveals the updated cabin of the new Citroen C5 Aircross and while the overall layout will remain similar, it now gets a new standalone touchscreen unit which most likely will be bigger in size along with seperate controls for the auto climate control. The pattern of the seat upholstery is also new and we also expect the new C5 Aircross of offer more creature comforts like ventilated seats, wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and more ADAS features.
Mechanically, the car is expected to remain unchanged. The Citroen C5 Aircross also gets a plug-in-hybrid (PHEV) version in the European markets PHEV that can travel up to 55 km in full-electric mode with zero tailpipe emissions. That said, we don't have any confirmation if the model will make its way to our shores. In India, the C5 Aircross is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that develops 177 bhp and is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
