- Ensure that the car has left two feet distance on front and backside.
It's no secret that even seasoned drivers might find it hard to park their vehicle perfectly. Most of us dread the idea of having to park the car. One of the trickiest things about parking a car is completing it without affecting vehicles in proximity.
The good news is that you can master car parking with just five tips and some practice. We've enlisted five of the simplest tips that can help you park your car within minutes!
Find a Parallel Parking Slot
The first step is to start driving alongside the parallelly parked cars slowly. Make sure to keep the turn indicators on so that the other drivers know that you're parking. One of the golden rules of parking is that the spot should be 4-feet longer than the vehicle's length. Once you've spotted a parking slot for your car, you can stop.

Find the Perfect Stop
Start by leaving a 3-feet distance from the cars in proximity and slowly pull alongside the area near the spot. Stop in such a way that your vehicle's rear wheel coincides with the rear bumper of the car ahead. You can ensure this by looking outside the window and ensuring that the C-Pillar is aligned to the back corner of the other vehicle. This spot would be perfect to start your parallel parking.
Begin Reversing
Once you have stopped the vehicle, it's time to kickstart the parallel parking movement. If the parking spot is to your right, rotate the steering wheel completely to the same side and vice versa. After this, start moving backwards and keep an eye on your left-wing mirror. You can stop reversing when the entire car behind you is visible on the left-wing mirror.

Align Your Car to the Parallel Parking Spot
Now you can bring the steering wheel's position straight ahead. Once more, start reversing slowly and keep your eyes on the right-wing mirror of the vehicle. Once this wing mirror coincides with the left rear corner of the car parked nearby, turn the steering wheel to a complete left. Continue reversing until the vehicle is parallel to the curb.
Make Sure There's Enough Gap
Now that you've achieved the perfect parallel position ensure that the car has left two feet distance on front and backside. This space will allow you to move out of the parking spot swiftly. Additionally, it ensures enough room for others to maneuver their cars without bumping into your vehicle.
