Highlights

Honda Amaze and the new-gen City have indeed proven to be game changers for the Japanese auto major in India. While the Amaze has secured its place in the top 3 selling compact sedans, the City is the best-selling mid-sized sedan today, followed by Hyundai Verna - the erstwhile segment topper.

Honda Cars India has sold over 88,000 units of the Amaze ever since its launch in April last year, thus making the sub-4 metre sedan one of the top-selling Hondas ever sold in India. Moving on the Amaze, the company sold 4,752 units of the compact sedan in May 2014.

Available in both petrol and diesel engine options, the Amaze is equally popular among diesel and petrol car buyers, who are looking for an affordable and powerful vehicle. The petrol model of the Amaze derives power from a 1.2-litre i-VTEC unit, while the diesel model houses the 1.5-litre i-DTEC motor under the hood.

Also, the company has sold over 38,000 units of the new-generation Honda City in just five months. In May alone, Honda sold 7,218 units of the City.
