Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan took delivery of his Range Rover Autobiography LWB, which has been customised according to his preferences. The actor picked up the SUV from Land Rover's new showroom in Andheri (West), Mumbai.
Amitabh Bachchan's Range Rover Autobiography LWB is a 4-wheel drive SUV and is equipped with a 4.4-litre, V8 diesel engine which produces 335bhp of power at 3,000rpm and 750Nm of torque at 1,750-2,250rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The car can go from 0-100Kmph in just 6.9 seconds and has a top speed of 218Kmph.
The interior of the SUV has been customised as per Amitabh Bachchan's preferences, which Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) chose not to disclose. Customisation options generally include choice of dashboard trims, type and colour of leather used, shade of wood trims, etc., but this car might just have a few more goodies in it since it involves arguably the most iconic Indian film star of all time.
Speaking at the event, Rohit Suri, President, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd (JLRIL), said: "Range Rover is the flagship of the Land Rover brand and is built on a legacy which represents the very pinnacle of refinement and British craftsmanship. More specifically, the Autobiography derivatives of Range Rover sit absolutely at the top of the personalisation and luxury ladder.
"Over the last 45 years, the Range Rover has gained an iconic status in the high-end SUV market across the world and we are thrilled to have the ultimate icon of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan, as a valuable customer of the Range Rover," he said.
Land Rover refused to reveal the price of this customised Range Rover Autobiography LWB.
Amitabh Bachchan is quite the car aficionado, with his garage home to a Rolls-Royce Phantom, a Bentley Continental GT, and a Porsche Cayman S, among other cars. He had a Range Rover Vogue as well which he gifted to his make-up artist.
