Audi E-Tron Quattro Spied With Virtual Exterior Mirrors

Audi was set to launch the e-tron electric SUV next month, but now, due to Rupert Stadler's arrest in wake of Volkswagen diesel emission scandal, the German carmaker has indefinitely deferred it. The company has also postponed its annual 'Audi Summit' in August 2018, which was supposed to take place in Brussels will happen in the US at a later occasion. However, the news has not stopped the company from conducting final testing of the e-tron SUV. Spotted in complete camouflage, the Audi e-tron electric SUV sports the optional virtual exterior mirrors instead of the side mirrors in traditional cars. These new virtual exterior mirrors will help the e-tron to reduce its width by 150mm and also contribute to cutting the low wind noise.

Visually, the Audi e-tron electric SUV shares its design element with the new Audi A8 and also the new A7. Compared to its concept though, the e-tron is more toned down but is still very contemporary. The Jaguar I-Pace rival is based on the modular platform carried from the parent company Volkswagen. The company claims that the new platform will help the e-Tron to target at least 500kms of range on a single charge. The production version of the Audi e-tron electric SUV can fill up on electricity in less than 30 minutes before its next leg of journey. It also gets the electrical Quattro four-wheel drive system.

These places include the cold of Scandinavia, the heat of Africa, the mountainous altitudes of Asia and also the Nurburgring. It will also be tested in the stop-and-go traffic of major Chinese cities and American highways.
