- The A5 will have 2 petrol and 3 diesel engines to choose from
- It will start deliveries towards the end of 2016
- Audi might bring it to India in the first half of 2017
(Audi S5 Coupe will be powered by a 3.0-litre V6 engine, generating 354bhp)The new Audi A5 Coupe will have a choice of 5 engines internationally. There will be two petrol engines and three diesel engines to choose from. The power outputs of these engines range from 190bhp to 286bhp. The performance has gone up by 17 per cent while the efficiency has gone up by a considerable 22 per cent from the previous model. The most powerful engine on offer will be the 3.0-litre V6 TFSI engine that will churn out a massive 354bhp, available on the S5. Also, one will be able to choose from a variety of transmission options such as the 6-speed manual, 7-speed S tronic and the 8-speed tiptronic, which will be only meant for the 286bhp diesel and the 354bhp S5. These two engines will come fitted with Audi's signature quattro AWD system as well. Optionally, one can also specify their A5 Coupes to be fitted with a rear-axle sport differential.
Audi says that the new A5 Coupe is bigger than its predecessor and will have more space inside the cabin. Luxurious and high-end materials have been used to give a sense of premium-ness inside. Audi will also be offering optional ambient light fittings with a choice from over 30 shades. The boot space too has grown in size, with a capacity of 465 litres as compared to 455 litres on the earlier model. The rear seat can be split to liberate more space for luggage. One can also get their A5 Coupe specified with a gesture control system.
(Audi A5 cabin)The A5 Coupe will get Audi's virtual cockpit as an option, which will be a 12.3-inch TFT display screen along with a, 8.3-inch MMI screen. The MMI terminal gets a touchpad, speech recognition and a voice control system as well. Other optional fitments include, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Audi Phone Box and the safety & service package. The new A5 Coupe also gets a host of driver assistance systems such as the predictive efficiency assistant, park assist, cross traffic assist, collision avoidance assist and so on and so forth.
Audi will start the deliveries of the new A5 Coupe towards the end of 2016 and we expect Audi to bring it to India some time in 2017.
