Auto Expo 2018: 2018 Yamaha MT-09 Showcased

Yamaha Motor India has showcased the 2018 MT-09 naked motorcycle at the ongoing Auto Expo 2018. The updated Yamaha MT-09 was launched in the country at a price of Rs. 10,88 lakh (ex-showroom) in November last year and makes its public debut at the Expo. Interestingly, the middleweight streetfighter was launched at the 2016 Auto Expo. The 2018 MT-09 gets a host of changes including the revised design with dual projector headlamps inspired from the MT-10 along with sharper styling across the bike. The bike also gets new colours for 2018 namely - Bluish Gray Solid, Deep Purplish Blue and Matte Dark Gray.
With respect to power, the 2018 Yamaha MT-09 continues to use the same 847 cc three-cylinder engine tuned to produce 113.4 bhp at 10,000 rpm and peak torque of 87.5 Nm at 8500 rpm. The moto comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The 2018 MT-09 faces tough competition from a host of rivals including the Triumph Street Triple, Kawasaki Z900, Ducati Monster 821 and the likes. Much like all premium Yamaha models, the 2018 MT-09 also comes to India via the CBU route.
In addition, Yamaha launched two motorcycles at the expo including the much awaited 2018 YZF-R15 V3 priced at Rs. 1.25 lakh, as well as the 2018 R3 with dual-channel ABS that is priced at Rs. 3.48 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The Yamaha pavilion also has Valentino Rossi's MotoGP championship contending M1 on display, which will be a sure shot treat for motorsport fans.
