Auto Sales July 2022: MG Motor India Reports Sales Of 4,013 Units, Down 5%

- Sales down 11% month-on-month
- Company continues to report supply-chain constraints affecting production
- MG gearing to launch the new-gen Hector in India in coming months
MG Motor India reported that it sold 4,013 units in July 2022 as it continued to deal with supply chain-related issues in the country. Sales were down 5% year-on-year and down about 11% month-on-month. The carmaker had reported sales of 4,503 units in June 2022 while in July 2021 total sales stood at 4,225 units.
The company said that its production continued to be affected by supply-chain constraints though they were working towards augmenting supplies and catering to customer demand for its models.
The company says the MG Hector remains its best-seller with demand for the ZS EV also growing
The Hector remains MG’s best-selling model in India with the company saying that the ZS EV too was recording ‘positive momentum. The ZS EV facelift was the brand’s latest new/updated model launch in India earlier this year with the company now gearing to launch the new-gen Hector in India.

The company recently teased its next-gen mid-size SUV in India revealing that it would pack in an even larger central touchscreen. The new unit will measure 14-inches and will be the largest portrait-oriented system fitted to a car in India from the factory. The company has confirmed a launch before the end of the year and the new SUV will be sold alongside the current model.
