Auto Sales June 2022: Hyundai Sells 62,351 Units To Report 14.5% YoY Growth

Hyundai Motor India released its June 2022 monthly sales figures, and the Korean carmaker reported a cumulative sales figure of 62,351 units (domestic + exports). This figure saw a 14.5 per cent year-on-year growth, as Hyundai sold 54,474 units in the month of June 2021. Of the 62,351 units sold, 49,001 units were sold in the domestic market, a figure which saw a year-over-year growth of 21 per cent. Hyundai also registered almost 15.9 per cent month-over-month growth in the domestic sales figure, as it sold 42,293 units in May.

Commenting on the June 2022 sales, Tarun Garg, Director, Sales, Marketing & Service, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, "With the semi-conductor situation showing signs of easing out, the sales number have again started showing a positive trend". "With cautious optimism, we will continue to meet and exceed customers’ aspirations towards a happy life”, he added.

While the domestic sales grew, Hyundai's export figures saw a year-over-year decline of 4.5 percent, as its export figures fell from 13,978 units in June 2021 to 13,350 in June 2022. Hyundai also launched the facelift Venue subcompact SUV in India earlier this month. Venue has been one of the bestselling subcompact SUVs in the country, and the 2022 model will also add to the company's sales figures in coming months.
