Benelli TRK 250 & 750, New 400 cc Motorcycles To Revealed At EICMA 2017

- Benelli will be expanding the TRK family with two new models
- The Benelli TRK 250 will take on offerings from Kawasaki and Suzuki
- The new motorcycles will be launched between 2018 and 2019
Italian bike maker Benelli is gearing up to have an action packed week in Milan next month with as many as 10 new models to be showcased at the 2017 EICMA Motorcycle Show. The bike maker has been revealing all-new bikes at the event every year, and this year will be no different. Benelli recently confirmed that the 250 cc and 750 cc versions of the TRK adventure tourer will be revealed at EICMA along with an all-new 400 cc offering. The new models will be powered by a twin-cylinder engines, much like the 302R and the TRK 502 bikes.

While speaking to Paultan.org, Benelli - Marketing Director For Americas, Asia and Africa regions, Dante Bustos confirmed the development of the new TRK models. Dustos also said, "In terms of engine platforms, we are seeking to expand very rapidly in these two segments, the 400 and 750, and we will have different type of frames in different types of bikes. We cannot release too many models in a year, but we plan to release a 250, a 400 and 750 between 2018 and 2019."
With the TRK250, Benelli is looking to tap into the growing quarter-litre adventure tourer segment that already has the likes of Honda CRF250L, Kawasaki Versys-X 250, Suzuki V-Strom 250 and the likes. Similarly, the TRK750 is expected to take on the Triumph Tiger 800, Kawasaki Versys 650 and the likes in the segment.
Little has been revealed about the 400 cc twin-cylinder offering in the works for Benelli. However, the motorcycle could make its way to India. Interestingly, DSK Benelli India boss Shirish Kulkarni, told Carandbike.com earlier this year that an all-new 400 cc motorcycle was in the offing for the Indian market. While details are yet to be confirmed, the new Benelli bike we will see at EICMA could make its way to India too.

Dustos further revealed that Benelli is planning to introduce a brand new engine in the coming years and is aiming to expand through the entire displacement range. The manufacturer also said it will concentrate new lower displacement engines as well including a 150 cc and a 250 cc single-cylinder, which is expected to be introduced next year. The company is looking to cover niche areas in a value-for-performance motorcycle segment.
The Chinese-owned manufacturer will also be bringing upgrades to the Benelli TNT 300 at EICMA. The model is expected to get new headlights, revised styling, and more electronics as well. The company also plans to introduce an electric motorcycle sometime in the future.
