BMW R nine T Launched in India at Rs. 23.5 Lakh

BMW Motorrad has launched its fourth roadster R nine T in India at Rs. 23.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Other three on sale in the country are S1000R, K1300R and the R1200R. The bike's rear looks like a Cafe Racer, while the wire spoke wheels, round headlamp, analogue instrument with aluminium accents give it a classic old school look.

Powering the new R nine T is an air-cooled flat twin 1170cc boxer engine that pumps out a power of 110bhp at 7550rpm and a peak torque of 119Nm at 6000rpm. A 6-speed gearbox delivers power to rear wheels via a cardan shaft drive. It is claimed to return a fuel economy of 22Km/l. The bike has a top speed of 200Km/h.

BMW Motorrad offers plenty of customization options for people planning to purchase the R nine T. The rear subframe can be replaced with a hump, while for solo driving experience, one can remove the rear frame. The upside-down telefork, alternative electrical components, rear axle with three mounting points for license plate, rear swing and optional akrapovic exhaust are other options. The new BMW R nine T will be brought in the country via the CBU route, and deliveries are likely to commence next month.
