Car Sales October 2021: Skoda Auto India Sells 3,065 Units

Skoda Auto India has released its monthly sales numbers for October 2021, during which, the company sold 3,065 units in the country. Compared to 1,421 units that were sold during the same month in 2020, Skoda witnessed a year-on-year growth of 116 per cent. Now Skoda says that its sales were largely driven by demand for the new Kushaq compact SUV, which is right now the company's best-selling model. Considering the Kushaq was not on sale in India in October 2020, the comparison won't be ideal, and this is merely an anomaly.

A more apt comparison would be with September 2021, when the company sold 3,027 cars in India. Compared to it, Skoda Auto India witnesses a month-on-month growth of 1.2 per cent in October 2021.

Skoda says that in addition to the Kushq, the numbers have been on the rise for the Superb, Octavia and Rapid too

Skoda launched the Kushaq compact SUV in June, and has been witnessing strong sales growth ever since. So far, the company has garnered over 15,000 bookings for the SUV, and on an average, it is selling over 2,000 units of the Kushaq every month. In fact, Skoda says that the numbers have been on the rise for the Superb, Octavia and Rapid too, all of which have contributed to the increasing sales volumes.

Skoda expects the numbers to grow further with the launch of the new Slavia early next year

Skoda is right now gearing up for the global debut of its new compact sedan, the Skoda Slavia, which will be unveiled in India on November 18, 2021. The new sedan will replace the Skoda Rapid in India. The company has already ended the production of the Rapid sedan, while deliveries for the new car will commence from early 2022.
