CNB Auto Expo Awards for Excellence 2018: Winners

The 14th edition of the Auto Expo are underway with manufacturers showcasing the best and biggest vehicles for the Indian market. NDTV Carandbike in association with Society of Indian Manufacturers (SIAM) aim to recognise these efforts at the biennial event with the Auto Expo Awards for Excellence. The Awards are being organised since the 2014 Auto Expo and are pioneers in recognising and honouring the best concepts, launches, pavilions and innovations at the biennial event. NDTV Carandbike and SIAM come together once again for the 'Awards For Excellence' to honour the best the expo, and here are the winners for the 2018 Auto Expo.
1. Best Market Debut - Car: KIA
KIA Motors has officially made its debut India at the Auto Expo 2018 while also organising of the world premiere of the new SP Concept. The manufacturer will be entering the domestic market soon.

2. Best Market Debut - Bikes: BMW Motorrad
German bike maker BMW Motorrad showcased its much awaited G 310 R and G 310 GS at the Auto Expo 2018, while launching its premium adventure tourers - the F750 GS and F850 GS.

3. Best Interactive Pavilion: Mahindra & Mahindra
Indian auto giant, Mahindra & Mahindra showcased a host of electric vehicles at the expo, along with its new future of mobility premium SUV that will hit the market soon. The automaker also display the 'Dealership of the Future' at its pavilion, in addition to the Formula E setup and concept race cars.

4. Best Concept Car: Maruti Suzuki FutureS Concept
Maruti Suzuki kick-started the Auto Expo 2018 with the FutureS Concept that previews the brand's mini crossover. The concept previews the design direction that future Maruti vehicles will take.

5. Best Concept Bike: TVS Creon
The TVS Creon concept is an electric scooter concept, showcasing the manufacturer's growing interest in the electric vehicle segment. The Creon also likely previews an upcoming electric scooter from the Hosur-based company.

6. Best of Show Car: KIA SP Concept
Making its global debut at the Auto Expo 2018, the KIA SP Concept is a sub 4-metre subcompact SUV that will take shape of a Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza rival and looks promising with a sharp design and feature rich cabin.

7. Best Pavilion CV: Mahindra & Mahindra
Mahindra displayed a host of commercial vehicles at the Auto Expo 2018 including electric powered ones
8. Best Pavilion - Premium brand: Mercedes-Benz
With the launch of the new Maybach S650 and the EQ Concept showcased, the Mercedes-Benz pavilion was a mix of the present and the future, and everything the premium automaker stands for.

9. Best Pavilion Car: Renault
The Renault India pavilion was an exciting one with 'The Concept' car, the automaker's first concept developed completely at its design centre in the country. The automaker also showcased the Trezor concept, along with its production ready offerings.

10. Best Pavilion Bike: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) displayed a total of 11 bikes at the Auto Expo 2018, with the launch of the brand-new X-Blade 160 motorcycle, as well as the 2018 editions of its existing line-up. The bike maker also showcased the 2017 MotoGP championship winning bike ridden by Marc Marquez, along with its complete premium line-up.

11. Best Global Debut: Hyundai i20 Facelift
The 2018 Hyundai i20 facelift made its global debut at the Auto Expo 2018. The premium hatchback gets cosmetic upgrades and feature additions in its latest avatar, while retaining the same engines under the hood. The new i20 facelift is competitively priced too, with deliveries starting later this month.

12. Best Market Launch - Bike: Hero XPulse 200
Hero MotoCorp's highly awaited offering, the manufacturer revealed the production ready XPulse 200 adventure tourer at the expo. The bike will be one of the more affordable offerings in its segment and will go on sale in the second half of 2018.
13. Best Market Launch Car: Toyota Yaris
Toyota has finally unveiled the Yaris compact sedan for the Indian market. The new offering takes on the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in the segment, and promises is a promising car that we look forward to.
14. Facebook People's Choice Car: Honda Civic
An icon that has gained a legendary status in India, the 10th generation Honda Civic has been showcased at the Auto Expo 2018, and marks the return of the brand's after more than half a decade. Clearly, the masses are looking forward for this one.
15. Facebook People's Choice Bike: BMW G 310 R
Another highly awaited model, the masses voted for the BMW G 310 R has been showcased at the expo and is confirmed to go on sale in the country in the second half of 2018. BMW Motorrad will also be launching the G 310 GS later this year.
16. Best Design: Tata H5X and 45X
Tata Motors wowed us with its two new concepts that speak a completely new and refreshing design language. Both concepts preview models that will be making it to production over the next two years, and we certainly look forward to them.
17. Best of Show Bike: TVS Creon
Taking a second award, the TVS Creon concept looks lovely with a futuristic design and some retro elements, while promising a powertrain of the future.
