Bajaj Discontinues Pulsar 135LS, Avenger Street 150

Bajaj Auto has decided to take off two motorcycles off the company's portfolio for the domestic market - the Pulsar 135LS, as well as the Bajaj Avenger Street 150. The Bajaj Pulsar 135LS has been discontinued from the domestic market owing to less market demand, although the model will continue to be in production for overseas markets. At this point of time though, the Pulsar 135LS is highly unlikely to be introduced again in the domestic market, due to quite a lot of interest in the updated Bajaj Pulsar 150, which will be introduced soon. The refreshed Pulsar 150 will get disc brakes at front and rear wheels, as well as a wider rear tyre and a split seat set-up borrowed from the Pulsar 180.

According to sources in Bajaj Auto, the commuter motorcycle market has evolved with renewed interest in the premium commuter space - in the 150 cc, 160 cc and 180 cc displacement products, and as such market demand for the Pulsar 135LS hasn't been encouraging to keep it active for the domestic market. So, a decision has been taken to not offer the Pulsar 135LS in the domestic market, rationalising the product portfolio in the commuter motorcycle segment.

Bajaj Auto's official website also doesn't list the Avenger Street 150 anymore. The official Bajaj Auto stand is that the Avenger Street 150 has not been discontinued, but that it has been "upgraded to the Avenger Street 180". What the Street 180 offers is a slightly more powerful entry-level cruiser, and has replaced the Avenger Street 180.
