Ducati Desmo Owners Club Rolls Out in Mumbai

Ducati has kicked off a new ownership group, called the Desmo Owners Club which embarked on their first official ride starting from the Ducati dealership in Bandra. Members of the D.O.C. rode through the city to Nariman Point and then onward to Hard Rock Café at Lower Parel.
Desmo, short for Ducati's unique desmodromic valve control, represents the heart of the Italian manufacturer's loyal and passionate community of owners celebrating their passion for riding.

The D.O.C. is one of the largest official motorcycle communities in the world with over 200 official clubs and 23,000 registered members. In India, as around the world, the club will also welcome non-Ducati owners passionate about the iconic brand. The Mumbai D.O.C. is the first in India and the 25th in Asia, where Ducati's popularity is growing fast.
"The Desmo Owners Club is intended for Ducati owners but is also open to owners of other brands who are passionate about Ducati. We're happy to see this community growing and D.O.C.s beginning to expand across India," said Ravi Avalur, Managing Director, Ducati India.

Eight D.O.C. Mumbai members are travelling to the 9th edition of World Ducati Week, at the Misano World Circuit in Italy next joining D.O.C. members and Ducatisti from around the world to celebrate Ducati's 90th anniversary.
Premium brands promote their products through ownership groups, the most famous of them being Harley-Davidson's ownership group called H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group). Triumph Motorcycles also have their own ownership group called R.A.T. (Riders Association of Triumph). Ducati has been late to the party, but the Italian manufacturer will be hoping to get a loyal fan following and increase the numbers of Ducatisti in India through the D.O.C.
