- The Scrambler 1100 gets an all-new engine and more electronics
- The 1,079 cc L-twin engine makes 85 bhp and 88 Nm
- The bike will be available in three variants; Regular, Sport and Special
The rumours of the bigger Scrambler have finally been put to rest! And that's only because Ducati has revealed the Scrambler 1100 ahead of EICMA 2017. The Scrambler is now available in three engine options, which are 400 cc, 800 cc and now 1,100 cc. Ducati will be offering the Scrambler 1100 in three variants, which are the Scrambler 1100, Scrambler 1100 Special and Scrambler 1100 Sport. The biggest update of course, is the new 1,079 cc L-twin motor, which makes 85 bhp at 7,500 rpm and puts out a peak torque of 88 Nm at 4,750 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch as well. The Ducati Scrambler 1100 weighs 206 kg (wet weight).

The bigger Scrambler also gets cornering ABS and traction control which are not offered on the Scrambler 400 and the Scrambler 800. The throttle is ride-by-wire and the bike gets various riding modes (Active, Journey and City) and power modes on offer. There is also a USB socket under the seat, for charging mobile devices.

The instrumentation has also been updated and is now an LCD unit. Also, the Scrambler 1100 gets enduro derived Pirelli MT60 RS dual-purpose tyres. The Scrambler 1100 will be available in yellow and black. The tank also gets aluminium panels which can be inter-changed. The aluminium belt cover too is machine finished and looks really good. We do hope that Ducati will bring the Scrambler 1100 to India in due time as India is an important market for Ducati in terms of volumes.
