EICMA 2021: New Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello Showcased

Moto Guzzi has showcased the new V100 Mandello at the EICMA 2021 motorcycle show and has revealed more details. The new Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello is a huge step forward and the new V100 is the most technologically advanced Guzzi so far. It is powered by a new 1,042 cc transverse v-twin engine which now features liquid cooling. It's a brand new DOHC engine that gets four valves per cylinder, a wet sump and a hydraulic wet clutch. Even with the new tech it's around 10 cm shorter that the V85 engine.

The new bike also features a single sided alloy swingarm but it's positioned much lower than on any previous models.
The new motor in the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello is tuned to belt out 113 bhp from the block and 103 Nm of peak torque and 90 per cent of the torque is available from just 3500 rpm while you can easily rev it till 9500 rpm. The new bike also features a single-sided alloy swingarm but it's positioned much lower than on any previous models. But the Mandello's coolest stuff is the world's first - active aerodynamics. Fixed on the side of the 17.5 litre tank is a pair of adaptive wind deflectors that can move outwards to mimic the wind protection of a more traditional tourer.

For the first time a Guzzi gets a six-axis IMU coupled with a Marelli 11MP ECU.
Guzzi claims that in its fully outstretched position it reduces air pressure on the rider by 22 per cent and if that's not enough there's an electronically adjustable screen too. The first is a top notch electronics suite that includes four riding modes, three engine maps, four levels of traction control and three levels of engine braking on top of the cruise control, cornering ABS and cornering lights. Then, it is also equipped with an Ohlins Smart EX 2.0 semi-active suspension, quickshifter, heated grips and Bluetooth smartphone connectivity.
