The Italian Tech Week was quite star-studded with John Elkann, the Stellantis shareholder, CEO of Exor, the holding company behind Ferrari and Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla joining the stage. They spoke about an assortment of things including autonomous vehicle technology something Musk has championed with AutoPilot. But both agreed on one thing that Ferrari shouldn't get into the self-driving game.
Elkann who was till recently the interim CEO of Ferrari after the sudden retirement of Louis Camilleri agreed that Ferrari would not be developing self-driving technology. Elkann attended the conference via video conference.

Musk and Elkann spoke at the Italian Tech Week
"The essence of having a Ferrari is to drive it," Elkann said. "It's on the logo," Musk added eluding to the prancing horse motif.
The two CEOs also agreed that nuclear energy could be a long-term solution along with solar energy. Musk even said nuclear power was quite safe, something that Bill Gates has also been championing for a couple of years. Elkann and Musk were quite surprised to witness the recent shift away from nuclear power, something of a side effect of the Fukushima incident.
"Nuclear is a solution that exists, it's one that we know, it's one that is secure and one that we should absolutely develop strongly," said Elkann.
