The FIA has revealed the 2022 Formula 1 Calendar that will be its longest season yet with a 23-race schedule. The 2022 F1 calendar was announced following the FIA's World Motor Sport Council on Friday this week. The season will kick-start with the opening race in Bahrain on March 20 and will conclude in Abu Dhabi on November 20 next year. Do note that it's massive change over the traditional season opener that took place in Australia every year. Nevertheless, the calendar has been worked up in hopes of a normal season next year amidst the pandemic.

Notably, China has been dropped from 2022 schedule while Imola is an addition to the race calendar. The decision was made given the ongoing uncertainty and travel restrictions relate to China.
A statement from F1 said it hoped the Chinese GP could be reinstated "as soon as conditions allow".
The organisers are also hopeful that venues including Australia, Canada, Japan, Singapore that would regularly host the Grands Prix in the past, return in the coming year. Meanwhile, Shanghai GP has been replaced by Imola with the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix set for April 24.
The first-ever Miami Grand Prix is also on the cards in 2022 and is slated to take place on May 8 between Imola GP and the Spanish GP on May 22. The next season will also see two triple-headers as the organisers aim to conclude the season right before the football World Cup scheduled to begin in November.
The 2022 F1 season will also be instrumental with the teams moving to the newly designed F1 cars. Not only is it accepted to shake-up the grid, we also expect to see some closer wheel to wheel action.
