Fiat Plans Surprise For the Abarth Punto Evo Launch
The Abarth brand already has a car to its name the 595 Competizione and as we have said the sting of the scorpion makes it a pocket rocket and we expect the Punto Evo to be no less. Fiat surprised us when they introduced the Abarth Punto Evo at the launch of the 595 Competizione and we are told that they will surprise us once again at the launch of the performance-oriented Punto Evo.
We are told by reliable sources that there are two surprises; the first one is that the Abarth Punto Evo will boast of a price tag less than Rs. 10 lakhs, which will make it the most powerful, affordable hatchback in the country. Powering this performance-oriented version of the car will be a 1.4-litre T-Jet turbocharged petrol unit that will churn out a whooping 145bhp of power and bookings for the car have already started.
Fiat Avventura
The second one though is a bit hush-hush but we can tell you it's another car and one that will add to the Abarth line-up in the country. We all know what it is and the crossover will be powered by the same engine as the Punto Evo but will churn out 140bhp making it the most powerful crossover in the country.
There are a few changes made to the Abarth Punto Evo and the hot hatch will get the Scorpion badge as well and 16-inch dual-tone alloys, Abarth decals on sides, wing mirrors and grille in contrast accents to enhance its sportiness.
The cabin too receives a few changes including different seats with contrast stitching in red and yellow and Abarth badge on steering wheel among others. To make the hatchback competent to handle the extra power, Fiat has lowered the vehicle's ride height by 20mm, stiffened the suspension and changed the brakes.
