Hero MotoCorp Starts Online Portal To Buy Two-Wheeler Spare Parts

- Hero will be delivering the spares via its 100 distributor network
- The purchase process is simple and customers buy directly from Hero
- Hero previously sold two-wheeler via Snapdeal online
World's largest two-wheeler manufacturer by volumes, Hero MotoCorp has introduced a new e-commerce portal that retails Hero Genuine Parts and Accessories. The website is called www.hgpmart.com, and allows you to select the desired component online, pay online and get the part delivered to your door step. That way, the customer purchases the spare part directly from the company eliminating the possibility of a fake or counterfeit item being purchased. The two-wheeler maker has partnered with e-logistics service provider Delhivery for pan-India delivery.
Hero MotoCorp will be using its extensive network of around 100 parts distributors for the sourcing and delivery of components on time. The manufacturer says the buying purchase is simplified in three steps, which includes selecting the two-wheeler make/model; then selecting the parts category and finally selecting the part that needs to be purchased.
This, however, isn't Hero's first online stint. The Indian manufacturer previously partnered with e-commerce portal Snapdeal through which the manufacturer sold over 500,000 two-wheelers in just over a calendar year.
The move to sell spares online is a major welcome and certainly makes things easy for customers. More so, for ones with older bikes with hard to source components. Online buying introduces transparency in spare prices as well. The company has time and again also conducted raids to find and seize counterfeit products.
On the product front, Hero MotoCorp is expected to have an exciting year with at least four products scheduled to be launched. This includes the Hero Xtreme 200R that will go on sale soon, and the Hero XPulse 200 adventure motorcycle set to go on sale towards the end of the year. Then there's the Hero Maestro Edge 125 and Duet 125 showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 that are slated to be launched later in the year.
