Honda CB Shine Crosses 1 Lakh Unit Sales In August 2018

The Honda CB Shine is the largest selling motorcycle from Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI). In August this year, Honda has sold over 1 lakh units of the CB Shine to record its highest ever monthly sales which has pushed the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer's market share by a healthy 6 percent to 52 per cent in the 125 cc segment in the Indian market. Sles of the CB Shine and the CB Shine SP together went up by 14.82 percent at 1,08,790 units in August 2018 compared to 94,748 units in the same period a year ago.
Speaking about the record sales milestone, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, HMSI said, "CB Shine is truly the mass motorcycle model from Honda's stable and we thank our 60 lakh plus CB Shine customers in India for choosing to out-shine with Honda. Achieving this record before festivals, gives us high confidence that CB Shine will further consolidate its leadership as India's preferred 125 cc motorcycle. With premium style, trusted performance, high comfort and first mover advantage as the only 125 cc motorcycle brand equipped with Combined Braking System, Honda CB Shine together with its special sibling CB Shine SP continues to reach new heights."
HMSI also claims that the CB Shine is the only motorcycle in the 125 cc segment to cross the 1 lakh sales mark for the third time which has also made it the only brand to post a positive Year-To-Date growth in the 125 cc segment. Moreover, HMSI has recorded a growth of 14 per cent year-on-year in August 2018 selling 4,95,315 units against 4,32,984 units in the same month last year.
Honda CB Shine is powered by 125 cc, single-cylinder engine which makes 10.3bhp of maximum horsepower and 10.3Nm of peak torque. Honda till date has sold over 60 lakh units of the CB Shine in the Indian market which nears its volume gap with the Honda Activa to maintain a mainstay in HMSI's portfolio. The Honda CB Shine is available in two variants. The standard Honda CB Shine is priced at Rs. 57,397 (ex-showroom Delhi) and the Honda CB Shine SP, with a five-speed gearbox, is priced at Rs. 63,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
