Honda Showcases 4 New Bikes; Launches CBR650F at Rs. 7.30 Lakh

Highlights
While the CBR150R and CBR250R have received only minor cosmetic and no mechanical changes, the CB Hornet 160R is a new motorcycle that has come as a replacement for the slow-selling CB Twister. The CBR650F that has been assembled locally with about 14 per cent localisation is now the company's new flagship model in India.
Honda CBR650F
The locally-assembled Honda CBR650F is the company's attempt to push the sales of high-performance motorcycles in India. The company claims to have achieved around 14 per cent localisation level for the CBR650F. Powering the bike is a 649cc, 4-cylinder, double overhead camshaft (DOHC) engine that, mated to a 6-speed gearbox, churns out an impressive 84bhp and 62Nm. The CBR650F will rival the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Benelli TNT 600 GT.
Price - Rs. 7.30 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi)

Unlike everyone's expectations, both the bikes have received neither mechanical nor major cosmetic changes. In fact, the Indian models are not similar to the internationally updated one that had dual head-lamps and were tweaked for more power. The bikes will now come with new graphics to enhance their sporty credentials and new colours.
Honda CB Hornet 160R
This is probably the most important bike of all four as this will fall in the entry level 150cc-160cc segment where the company could never do well. After failing to make an impact in this segment, the Honda Dazzler was replaced by the CB Trigger which too couldn't live up to the company's expectations. The Honda CB Hornet 160R is yet another attempt from HMSI to increase its sales in the highly competitive segment.
Just so you know, the 'Hornet' is the company's globally popular brand name under which 250cc to 900cc capacity motorcycles. For the first time, the Hornet has been used for a bike of such a low capacity. Powering the motorcycle is the same 163cc, single-cylinder engine that also powers the Unicorn 160. This engine is good for 14.5bhp and 14.61Nm. It will also come with features like an LCD Digital meter, X-shaped LED tail lamps and wave disc with CBS for better stopping power.
