Highlights

E-auto rickshaw first came into existence around 2010 in China and after that opened its door in India. The main motive behind introducing and promoting e-auto rickshaws in the automobile market is now considered the best friend of the environment. On top of that, it gives its owner a high income with low maintenance costs. Therefore, it seems very much profitable to own an e-auto rickshaw. However, there are different types of e-auto rickshaws. Take solar rickshaws, for example; these rickshaws are powered by the solar panels without any need for batteries, although they are fewer in numbers. An e-auto rickshaw has the capacity to load weights up to 1000 kg.

This e-auto rickshaw became popular in India around 2011 because of its low cost and eco-friendly nature. Unfortunately, the government has decided to ban these vehicles, but they are not prohibited from the streets. Although this rule is applied in some states in India, here are some plausible reasons behind how e-auto rickshaws are steering the Indian automobile market.

    Promote zero pollution

It will always be the first reason any e-auto rickshaw is the favourite choice. As it uses batteries instead of gasoline or diesel, you need not to think twice about the environmental pollution. So whenever you drive an E-auto rickshaw, know this you are contributing your little effort to make this world better for the future.

Service that is better and cheaper

With fewer parts, no combustion engine E-auto rickshaw claims to be pocket-friendly. But, on the other hand, it requires no or less regular maintenance. So, if you compare regular auto-rickshaws with an E-auto rickshaw, how cost-friendly it is, and also in the matter of durability and solid base, it is everything you wish for.

    The maintenance cost is meagre.

This E-auto rickshaw is entirely powered by a high-capacity battery and not any fuel or gasoline, and it can be changed anytime and anywhere. When you don't need to spend any extra money on maintenance, it becomes a great thing to deal with; E-auto rickshaws are such kind of vehicles. There is no need for excess expense on this type of vehicle. The use of batteries makes it a lot cheaper than the usual rickshaws.

Low fuel consumption and high wages

It is profitable to own an E-auto rickshaw because of the no fuel costs such as the gasoline and diesel; also, the operating costs are lower than you can ever imagine. All these make this E-auto rickshaw a convenient way to travel.

    The E-auto rickshaw trend

With the growing demand and so much benefit, the market of E-auto rickshaws is gaining momentum may win the race in the next few years. In a tug of war between pollution and green movement, may E-auto rickshaw help the green movement win!

As a matter of design and construction, these E-auto rickshaws have tubular chassis consisting of three wheels and different gears on the rear wheels. The motors that are used in this vehicle are brushless DC motors, which are produced mainly in India and China. The Indian version E-auto rickshaw has a 48v electrical system, and the Bangladesh version has the 60v.

    Conclusion

Overall, India's quest for sustainable mobility is expanding day by day in the form of unregulated and unplanned E-auto rickshaws using lead-acid-based batteries. The same search can take a positive turn when it is coupled with technological achievements. Battery-operated E-auto rickshaws have quite an impact on the environment and not just on India's mobility landscape.
