The Hyundai Venue has been on sale globally since 2019 and the automaker has begun work on the updated version of the subcompact SUV. The first images of the Hyundai Venue facelift have emerged online from South Korea with the SUV wearing heavy camouflage. The model is expected to arrive with a bunch of cosmetic upgrades and feature additions while carrying over mechanicals from the existing version. The Venue is a global offering and these changes will make it to a number of markets possibly as early as next year.

The Venue facelift could arrive with a completely new grille similar to the new-gen Tucson and the upcoming Creta facelift
The camouflaged test mule has little to give away on the changes from the 2022 Hyundai Venue facelift. You can expect the automaker to adopt the updated design language from the new-gen Tucson that also makes its way to the upcoming Creta facelift teased recently. The changes will include a redesigned grille possibly with the integrated LED DRLs, new LED headlamps, reprofiled bumpers and taillight. The test mule does manage to show the new alloy wheels on the SUV that could be market-specific. There seems to be no change to the profile of the SUV, which retains its tall and boxy silhouette.
There are no images of the new cabin but the Venue facelift could arrive with an updated touchscreen and instrument console, along with a host of new features. Mechanically, the SUV is likely to carry over the same engine options that include the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol with 82 bhp, the fantastic 1.0-litre T-GDi turbo with 118 bhp, and the 1.5-litre diesel with engine 99 bhp on offer. Transmission choices include the 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed IMT and the 7-speed DCT. Could Hyundai also bring a diesel-automatic combination to the Venue to evenly match the Kia Sonet? That would be something interesting to watch out for.

The subcompact SUV is a crowded space and timely updates will help models stay relevant amongst the masses. The Hyundai Venue facelift will continue to compete against the Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, among others. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to introduce the second generation Vitara Brezza next year, which will also bring the new Urban Cruiser from Toyota.
