Jeep Compass, the long-awaited compact SUV from the American SUV manufacturer has been unveiled in India. This will be the first official debut of the Jeep Compass in India, which will be showcased to the media at Fiat India's Ranjangaon plant near Pune. Now, we have already told you everything that we know about the upcoming Jeep Compass and brought you some exclusive spy shots of the car as well. The car will be priced in the range of Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will rival the likes of Hyundai Tucson.
Now, Jeep India has been creating a lot of buzz for the upcoming all-new Compass, which started with the release of the official teaser images on the company's India website and followed by a first look teaser video. While we will get to know more about the India-spec Jeep Compass only tomorrow, it is being said that the car will remain largely similar to the global spec model, at least in terms of design, styling, and features.
Fiat India's Ranjangaon plant will not only be manufacturing the Jeep Compass for the Indian market but also for other exports markets where right-hand-drive (RHD) Compass SUVs will be sold. India will be the only country where Jeep will manufacturing the right-hand-drive Jeep Compass is among one of the four major export hubs for the carmaker, which includes - Brazil, China, and Mexico.

The new Jeep Compass compact SUV is based on the stretched version of the company's Small Wide 4x4 architecture. It is touted to be the baby Grand Cherokee and shares some its design and style cues. The neat looking cabin has been designed with premium quality material and two-tone finish. There is also a 7-inch information display equipped with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. The car also has a capless fuel system, keyless entry with passive go, a power tailgate, and a glass sunroof. Moreover, the Compass comes with more than 70 safety and security features - but some of those may not be offered on the Indian spec model, due to limitations like the use of radar frequency (for adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, etc).

Under the hood, the India-spec Jeep Compass is likely to get a couple of 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine options. Transmission options will include a 9-speed automatic, while a manual is also likely to be offered. We expect Jeep India to start with the pre-bookings for the Compass compact SUV, post its big unveiling on the 12th of April 2017. Jeep Compass will be officially launched in India in the second half of 2017.
