Kia Seltos Adds 6-Airbags As Standard Across Trims; Prices Hiked

- Kia Seltos is the first car in its segment to add six airbags as standard across all variants.
- Kia Seltos accounts for close to 60 per cent of the company's total sales in the country.
- The most popular variant in the Seltos range is the HTX Petrol.
Kia India announced that it's Kia Seltos compact SUV is the first car in its segment to add six airbags as standard across all variants. Besides the Kia Seltos, six airbags as standard fitment are also offered on the Kia Carens, making Kia India the only mass segment manufacturer offering this important safety feature as standard. The prices for the Kia Seltos now begin at Rs. 10.49 lakh and go up to Rs. 18.65 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the top-of-the-line Kia Seltos X-Line, seeing a hike of Rs. 30,000 on all variants over the earlier prices. According to the South Korean carmaker, the Kia Seltos accounts for close to 60 per cent of the company's total sales in the country.

Hardeep Singh Brar, VP & Head- Sales & Marketing, Kia India said, “Seltos is a special product for Kia India as it marked the beginning of our journey in this vibrant country. Since then, Seltos has created many benchmarks in its segment and beyond; and has proved to be the flag bearer of Kia’s ‘Make in India, for the world’ prowess. Seltos has contributed close to 60% to our overall sales in the country. With the Seltos, Kia brought in many firsts in the segment and by giving six airbags as standard, we want to keep that momentum.”

Kia says that the Kia Seltos compact SUV has a strong demand for both its petrol and diesel variants, with around 46 per cent preferring the diesel variants, 58 per cent of the sales come from its top variants, while the automatic options contribute to around 25 per cent. The Seltos iMT is also an extremely popular choice among Kia customers as 1 out of every 10 Seltos sold is with this gearbox. Additionally, the company also revealed that the most popular variant in the Seltos range is the HTX Petrol, while the most popular colour is Glacier White Pearl.
