KTM 790 Adventure To Be Unveiled At EICMA 2017

- The KTM 790 Adventure is an all-new motorcycle
- It gets the same engine as the KTM 790 Duke
- The KTM 790 Adventure will not be coming to India
It is good news and bad news from adventure motorcycle fans in India. KTM is all set to take the wraps off from the all-new 790 Adventure motorcycle. The bike was first spotted testing in late 2016, with talks of hitting the roads in 2019. The KTM 790 Duke roadster will be launched first and followed by the 790 Adventure after a year maybe. The KTM 790 Adventure will get the same 800 cc parallel twin engine which also does duty on the 790 Duke. KTM hasn't released details about the complete specifications of the 790 Adventure, but we believe that the power output will be equal or more than 100 bhp and the bike will be going up against the likes of the Africa Twin and the Triumph Tiger 800.
(KTM 790 Adventure)
The KTM 790 Adventure will get an LCD instrument console, twin fuel tanks, LED headlamp, a 21-inch spoked wheel upfront and an 18-inch wheel at the rear. Of course, the bike will be shod with road-biased tyres and off-road ones as well. The road-going version of the bike might get a smaller 19-inch wheel upfront and a 17-inch wheel at the rear. Needless to say, the bike will have long-travel suspension and a horizontal, adjustable monoshock at the rear. There will be electronic rider aids in the form of ABS, traction control and riding modes as well.
The bad news is that the 790 Adventure will not be coming to India, not anytime soon. While more and more premium bike manufacturers consider India as a growing market for performance bikes, KTM has restricted its product portfolio ranging from 200 cc to 400 cc, despite the fact that KTM has some rather interesting performance motorcycles in its global portfolio.
