Lamborghini Reports 25% Growth In Q1 2022 Profits, See 13% Rise In Turnover

Italian supercar marque, Automobili Lamborghini, has released its financial results for the first quarter of 2022. Between January and March 2022, the carmaker reported achieving an operating profit of € 178 million (over Rs. 1,449 crore) a growth of 25 per cent compared to the € 142 million (Rs. 1,156 crore) profit reported in Q1 2021. During the quarter that ended on March 31, 2022, Lamborghini also registered a turnover of € 592 million (over Rs. 4,820 crore), up 13.3 per cent compared to the first three months of 2021. In fact, Lamborghini says that it recorded its best-ever performance in terms of turnover and profitability.
Commenting on the company's performance, Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, commented: "The first quarter was the best-ever for all major indicators, both business and financial. This is a result-driven by a highly attractive product range, and a strategy that also aims to deliver less supply than demand to keep desirability high, combined with a balanced distribution of sales in the three main regions of the world."

In addition to that Lamborghini says that favourable trends in exchange rates, supported by an increase in volumes also played a major role in achieving growth in Q1 2022. In fact, with regards to volume, between January and March 2022, Lamborghini delivered 2,539 cars globally, achieving a growth of 4.8 per cent compared to the same period in 2021. Between January and March, Lamborghini also continued to strengthen its sales network with the opening of new showrooms, and it entered the world of non-fungible tokens or NFTs for the first time.

Paolo Poma, Managing Director and CFO of Automobili Lamborghini, added, "The start of 2022 was marked by the ongoing context of uncertainty. In this situation, the results from the first quarter once again demonstrate Lamborghini's resilience. We will continue working with the conviction that we can maintain our growth throughout the year, compared to the results of 2021."

Lamborghini says that even the second quarter began at a high note with the company's Huracan achieving a new sales milestone of 20,000 units. Last month the company also introduced the Huracan Tecnica, which was unveiled at the NY Auto Show 2022. In fact, Lamborghini says that it will bring in two new iterations of the Urus and one Huracan model in the coming months.
