Mahindra KUV100 Trailer Starring Varun Dhawan Released

A trailer of the Mahindra KUV100 advertising campaign for TV has been released, ahead of the sub-compact SUV's launch on January 15, 2016. The 10-second teaser features Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan, who is the car's brand ambassador, and obviously the KUV100 itself.
The KUV100 is Mahindra and Mahindra's smallest SUV and is targeted at youth below 30 years of age. The Indian carmaker is betting big on the car and started taking bookings for it from December 19, 2015 onwards.
The Mahindra KUV100, where KUV stands for 'Kool Utility Vehicle', will come powered by an all-new series of engines called 'mFalcon'.

The petrol engine, mFalcon G80, is the first petrol engine created by Mahindra from scratch. With an all-aluminium body, it is also the lightest engine in its segment. The BS IV emission standards-compliant 1.2-litre petrol unit develops 82bhp and 114Nm of maximum torque.
The sub-compact SUV's all-new diesel engine, mFalcon D75, is a 1.2-litre turbocharged common rail diesel unit that puts out 77bhp along with a peak torque of 190Nm. Both engines will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox with no current plans for an automatic transmission unit yet.
The KUV100 is expected to get a starting price of Rs. 4.5 lakh, and essentially has no competition in the Indian automobile market. However, if only the car's price were to be a consideration, it will take on the Hyundai Grand i10.
