Meet Varsovia, An Uber-Luxury Sedan From Poland

- Varsovia is the product of a Polish startup manufacturer
- It is still in its developmental stages
- It will be unveiled at next year's Geneva Auto Show
When it comes to luxury cars, the first few cars that come to your mind are German but never Polish. Well, a Polish startup named Varsovia Motor Company has published a handful of computer-generated images that preview an ultra-luxurious sedan. It's called the Varsovia and it's designed in Poland. From what we can see, it's a long, stately, four-door sedan and has a scale-like finish on the sides.
The Varsovia also gets suicide rear doors and chrome around the window. Now, the design inspiration is not an aircraft or an animal; rather a mystical creature. The company says that the design has been inspired by Sawa, a mermaid depicted on the city of Warsaw's coat of arms.
(Varsovia-Interiors)The company claims that it will be the most luxurious sedans in the market and when you first glance at the car, you have to applaud that claim. It's modern and well powered by a gasoline-electric drivetrain. The company has taken the minimalist path to designing the cabin and which is why we see that there is no passenger seat in order to free up as much space as possible for the occupants riding in the back. The company also claims that the Varsovia will be the first car in history that adapts to the occupants' mood and helping it to do so are sensors and cameras which detect whether the passengers are feeling calm, excited, or any emotion in between. The car then automatically adjusts the hardness of the seats, the music, and the ambient lighting accordingly.
(Varsovia-Digital Rendering)Under the hood is a gasoline-burning electric motor which is used solely to generate electricity. The battery pack is located under the floor and helps to drive the wheels via an electric motor. It's a concept similar to what we see in the Karma Revero and the Chevrolet Volt so the technology isn't all new. The sedan can drive on electric power for close to 350km before the internal combustion engine kicks in, and it can hit 100Km/h in less than five seconds - well, that's the claim.
Varsovia is in the early stages of developing a functional, life-sized concept that will be presented to the public during a major auto show and it'll probably be the Geneva Auto Show next year. Varsovia Motor Company will look at how the market responds to its creation after which it'll build approximately 50 examples of the sedan. We wonder what the price will be though!
