Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe India Launch Date Revealed

- The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe will join the AMG GLE 53 on sale
- The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 packs the more powerful turbocharged V8
- The AMG GLE 63 Coupe will be priced just under Rs. 2 crore (ex-showroom)
The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe is all set to be the next launch from the automaker, and the automaker will introduce the offering on August 23, 2021. The new GLE 63 Coupe made its global debut in February last year and will join the fantastic GLE 53 Coupe already on sale in the country. Unlike the GLE 53 AMG that gets a straight six engine, the GLE 63 AMG goes bonkers with the turbocharged V8 along with mild-hybrid technology. The GLE 63 Coupe could arrive in the standard and S forms when it goes on sale in a few days from now, and will arrive as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).

Power on the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe comes from the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V8 engine with a 48V starter-alternator. The EQ Boost mild-hybrid tech paired with the engine delivers an extra 21 bhp and 250 Nm to improve initial acceleration and efficiency. On the standard AMG GLE 63 Coupe, the motor develops 563 bhp while the AMG GLE 63 S is tuned for 603 bhp and can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3.8 seconds. The top speed is restricted to 280 kmph. The V8 is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and also gets 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive as standard. The Coupe SUV will come with six driving modes, while the S variant adds a seventh Race mode. The GLE 63 will also get the throatier exhaust and not the artificially enhanced one seen on the GLE 53 Coupe.

The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe will take on the Porsche Cayenne Coupe and the Maserati Levante
Visually, the new Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe gets the Panamericana grille, twin LED DRLs, big haunches for the rear wheels, AMG twin-exit exhaust, and more. The model also rides on larger 22-inch wheels. Inside, the AMG GLE 63 Coupe gets Nappa leather seats, sports AMG steering wheel, carbon fibre inserts and more. The Coupe-SUV will also get Active Ride Control with Active Roll Stabilisation.
The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe is likely to be priced just under Rs. 2 crore (ex-showroom), which makes it substantially expensive than the AMG GLE 53 Coupe. The offering though will lock horns against the Audi RS Q8, Maserati Levante, and the Porsche Cayenne Coupe in the segment.
