The Mercedes-Benz Vision AMG Concept will soar the sporty brand into the future with the preview of the electric car arriving in 2025. The preview focuses on the exterior of the model and provides little technical detail. "With this study, we are providing, for the first time, an insight into how to transplant AMG's DNA into a purely electric future from 2025 onwards," said Philipp Schiemer, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. The Mercedes-Benz Vision AMG Concept is based on the dedicated AMG.EA architecture and driveline components are produced from the ground up. The power comes from axial flux motors from Mercedes' subsidiary YASA. However, there are no details on the performance, but the carmaker claims these units “produce significantly more power than conventional electric motors”.

The Mercedes-Benz Vision AMG Concept has a long wheelbase, short overhangs, and a low-seat body. Heavy-duty fenders cover the large wheels, which are F1-inspired. In front of the concept is a fresh version of the Panamericana grille with vertical slats. However, electric cars do not need actual openings. In this case, there is a body-colored middle part with an illuminated “grid”. The frame is also lit. The headlights have three elements that evoke the shape of Mercedes-Benz's iconic star logo. Those on the inside are connected to an illuminated strip on the top of the hood.

The steeply rising A-pillar opens into a roof that tapers into a teardrop shape. Along the sides, Mercedes paints the windows the same Alubeam Silver color as the rest of the body. The tiny stems function as a side mirror. There is an active spoiler on the short aft deck. The illumination at the top covers the side of the body, all the way to the rear wheel arch. There are three brake lights on each side of the tail, and the three-dimensional design of the lights immediately evokes the appearance of the exhaust pipes. Below them is a black diffuser.

The Mercedes-Benz Vision AMG Concept also bears some of the styling cues of its Mercedes Formula 1 car. For example, the side sills and tea-blue edges along the diffuser look like a race car. In both, the Mercedes star motif also adorns the rear of the body. Mercedes did not indicate in the pictures or in the announcement what the passenger compartment of the model will look like.
