New Harley Davidson X440T Unveiled Ahead Of Launch

- Gets a new tail section, new seat
- Comes in four new paint options
- Likely to continue with the same engine
Back in December 2024, Hero MotoCorp confirmed in a SEBI filing that its partnership with Harley-Davidson would extend beyond the X440, with new variants in development. A year later, the next model in that lineup is here. Christened the X440T, the new motorcycle stays close to its 440 sibling but brings a handful of subtle yet noticeable updates.

The biggest visual change is an entirely redesigned rear three-quarter section. The X440T’s tail gets a stretched cowl compared to the standard model and is similar to what we see on commuter motorcycles. Moreover, Harley-Davidson hasn’t rolled out a single front-angle image yet, but we expect it to be quite similar to the standard X440. Other notable changes include bar-end mirrors and four new colour options: Red, Black, Blue and White.
Apart from the visual changes, we could expect some feature additions on the X440T, including a ride-by-wire system. If so, it could bring additional features such as riding modes, switchable traction control, and more.

More details haven’t been revealed yet, but the X440T is expected to share most of its hardware with the X440. Expect the chassis, engine, suspension setup, wheel sizes, and braking setup to remain the same. For reference, the current Harley-Davidson X440 is powered by a 440 cc, oil-cooled, 2-valve SOHC single-cylinder engine that produces 27 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 38 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The Hero-Harley partnership dates back to 2020, when the American brand teamed up with the Indian two-wheeler major to manage its local sales and service network and co-develop new premium models. The first product from this collaboration, the H-D X440, arrived in 2023, followed by Hero’s Mavrick 440 in early 2024.

It remains to be seen whether the existing X440 will be replaced with the new X440T or both versions will be sold alongside. The Hero counterpart on this platform is still listed on the company’s website, but the model has reached the end of its run. Only select dealerships with remaining stock are currently selling the Mavrick 440.
