New Mahindra Scorpio Facelift Coming in October

The long wait for the new Mahindra Scorpio facelift will end in October 2014. Mahindra & Mahindra, that is testing the updated Scorpio for quite a long time now, is planning to roll out the vehicle during the festive season.

Last month, we spotted the 2014 Scorpio doing test-runs on the outskirts of Nashik that revealed many details about the new model. The new model will have an aggressive front fascia with new head-lamps, revised grille and revamped front bumper. The updated Scorpio is likely to feature HID/projector head-lamps instead of regular bulbs. Although the side profile of the car will remain largely similar, there will be new alloy wheels.

With updated dashboard, better upholstery, new steering wheel and newly designed AC vents, the updated Scorpio will also offer a more up-market cabin to its buyers. The new model might also receive a new music player with a touch-screen infotainment system, along with some features borrowed from the XUV500.

Since it will be a mid-life makeover of the car, we don't expect it to receive any major changes under the hood. However, the company might tune its powertrains for better fuel economy and performance. The existing Scorpio's 2.2-litre mHawk diesel unit churns out 120bhp, while the 2.5-litre m2DiCR develops 75bhp.

Stay tuned to NDTV Auto for more updates on the Scorpio facelift.
