New Volkswagen Touareg Spied Again, Unveil By Mid 2018

- New Volkswagen Touareg will be built on the MLB platform
- The Volkswagen Touareg will feature new styling language
- The Touareg will get seven seats, a range of petrol and diesel engines
The upcoming Volkswagen Touareg has been spied once again showcasing the new design language that Volkswagen has adopted (starting with the Arteon). According to a recent announcement by Volkswagen, the new SUV is slated for a global unveil in the next few months, possibly at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show in April. The new Touareg will be much larger than its predecessor and will get 7 seats along with a whole new design language that makes it much nicer looking than its predecessors. The new Touareg might not however make it to India considering the fact that previous generations have never really managed to make much of an impression on the Indian audiences despite being great vehicles.

The new Volkswagen Touareg will be made on the Volkswagen Group's MLB platform that also underpins the Audi Q7, the Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Bentayga and the recently launched Lamborghini Urus. The Touareg of course will cater more to an everyday customer as compared to some of the other SUVs on that list. The new SUV will also get a range of turbocharged petrol or diesel engines, mostly the 2-litre and 3-litre motors. The new Volkswagen Touareg will also be the flagship offering from the German automaker and will be more expensive than the Arteon.

For the first time ever, the Volkswagen Touareg is also slated to get a sportier version though with VW announcing the expansion of its 'R' lineup that currently is available on the Golf. This could mean that the Touareg might get a twin-turbo V6 engine like from the Audi S5 or the new 2.5-litre 5-cylinder turbocharged motor that does duty in the TT-RS! On the flip side, the Touareg is also slated to receive electrification of some sort in the near future with either a plug-in hybrid or a full electric version.
