Peter MacKenzie Named Harley-Davidson India Managing Director

Harley-Davidson India has got a new leader at the helm, with Peter MacKenzie named as the Managing Director of Harley-Davidson India with immediate effect. MacKenzie will have additional responsibility for Harley-Davidson India, as well continue with his current role as Managing Director, Harley-Davidson Greater China. He will continue to be based in Shanghai, China and will frequently travel to India, a statement from Harley-Davidson India said. Manish Agarwal, Country Manager, Harley-Davidson India, will be providing full support to day-to-day operations of Harley-Davidson India, the statement added.

"India is a strategic market for us in line with our company strategy to build the next generation of Harley-Davidson riders globally. I am confident that MacKenzie will provide strong leadership to the team to grow the reach and impact of our brand, as we expand our dealership network in the country to support our business and give loyal and new customers greater access to our brand," said Marc McAllister, vice president and managing director, International Markets.

Earlier this year, Vikram Pawah stepped down as Managing Director, Harley-Davidson India, after just a year at the position. Pawah has gone on to join BMW Group India as the President. According to reports, Harley-Davidson India's Marketing Director, Pallavi Singh has also stepped down and is expected to join SAIC India.

Harley-Davidson has stepped up its 2018 product line-up with a range of upgrades to its existing motorcycles. The upgrades will include several variants of the Milwaukee-Eight engine to be introduced across the Harley-Davidson 2018 model year range. The Milwaukee-Eight engine uses four valves per cylinder and is an all-new engine from the iconic American cruiser brand. The engine was first introduced in Harley-Davidson's 2017 Touring range, including the Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special and Street Glide Special models. In 2018, Harley-Davidson is also expected to introduce four new CVO models, all with the Milwaukee-Eight engine.
