Aprilia SR 150 Launched In India; Priced At Rs. 65,000

- The SR 150 is the first scooter from Aprilia to be launched in India
- It is powered by a 154cc engine delivering 11.4bhp and 11.5Nm of torque
- Deliveries will begin from next week onwards
(Aprilia SR 150 rear three-fourths shot)Borrowing its design cues from the bigger Aprilia scooters, the SR 150 looks distinctly European in its appeal with the slender frame, dual headlight cluster and the sport race inspired graphics. The model also boasts of an exposed engine thanks to the rising the rear panel, while completing the look are the massive (by scooter standards) 14-inch wheels. Power comes from the 154.4cc single-cylinder engine that is tuned to produce 11.4bhp and 11.5Nm of torque. The motor comes mated to an automatic transmission.
The Aprilia SR 150 is an enthusiast oriented scooter, something our market has a dearth of and has been tuned to offer impressive handling, courtesy of a stiffer suspension setup. Braking performance, on the other hand comes from a front disc and a rear drum brake setup.
The Aprilia SR 150 is being locally produced in India with 90 per cent local content going in, which has helped the company price the model competitively. The scooter is being produced at the parent company Piaggio's Baramati facility and will be sold through the company's Vespa and Motoplex showrooms. Deliveries will start soon.
