Porsche India introduced its first-ever electric product, the Taycan electric sports car back in November 2021 at a starting price of 1.50 crore (ex-showroom, India). Now, the German carmaker has commenced with the deliveries for the Porsche Taycan electric sports car in India, and the first Taycan Turbo, wrapped in Green Mamba Metallic colour, was delivered at Porsche Centre Delhi-NCR. The interior of the Rs. 2.08 crore Taycan Turbo is enveloped in Club Leather Interior Olea in Truffle Brown. The Porsche Taycan takes on the Audi e-Tron GT in the niche segment and is available in four trims - Taycan, Turbo, Turbo S, and 4S.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo features twin electric motors, one on each axel that combined produce 625bhp and 850Nm, from its 93.4kWh battery that also promises a claimed range of 420km. This battery can be charged to 100 per cent in 9 hours on an industrial phase-three 11kW AC socket such as those installed at home by EV owners. Using a 50kW rapid-charger will replenish the batteries to 80 per cent in around an hour-and-a-half, while a 350kW ultra-rapid charger reduces that time to 20 minutes. Using a regular household plug also works, although charging times will be longer.

Inside, the Porsche Taycan's cabin is arguably the most refined of any Porsche with top-notch materials used to enhance its premium appeal. In terms of technology, the Taycan is equipped with twin screens controlling the car's functions and infotainment, enhanced by haptic feedback from the screens. For extra bucks, you can also fit in a third screen for the passenger. The Porsche Taycan's boot measures in at 366L, but most of it is occupied by the batteries. However, an additional 84L of luggage space is under the hood.
