Highlights
- Touring variant of GSX-S1000 to be called the Suzuki GSX-S1000T
- GSX-S1000T to replace the erstwhile Suzuki GSX-S1000F with a fairing
- New GSX-S1000T expected to be unveiled later this year
Suzuki unveiled the updated and revamped 2021 Suzuki GSX-S1000 just a couple of months ago, and now word on the street is that Suzuki's litre-class superbike, the Suzuki GSX-R1000 will also be updated soon. But there's another full-faired model based on the Suzuki GSX-S1000 which will be likely introduced. The new model is expected to replace the former Suzuki GSX-S1000F, and will be called the Suzuki GSX-S1000T, which will be a more touring-oriented model, rather than being track-focussed like the GSX-R1000. Suzuki has apparently replaced the 'F' in the faired version with a 'T' to better reflect its touring role.

The new GSX-S1000T will share the same mechanical underpinnings as the naked Suzuki GSX-S1000. So, the engine will be the same 999 cc in-line 4-cylinder engine. which has been re-worked, with new profiles on the intake and exhaust camshafts so as to reduce valve overlap and the airbox is new too. This results in a flatter torque curve along with a strong bottom end and an increase of 5 bhp, with total power output of 150 bhp at 11,000 rpm and 106 Nm of torque at 9,250 rpm.

The new model is likely to be unveiled later this year.
