Tata Zest's Production Commenced; Will be Launched Next Month

It is no secret that Tata Zest sedan's launch is just round the corner. The company commenced bookings for the sedan last week, and has now finally started its production too. Tata recently rolled out the first batch of the upcoming compact sedan at the Tata-Fiat plant in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra. Considering the kind of traction this one has been gaining of late, rest assured that the sedan's launch is merely a few weeks away!
Tata Zest will be offered with two engine options, i.e. a 1.2-litre MPFi turbocharged petrol engine, the Revotron 1.2T and the 1.3-litre multijet diesel motor. While the diesel motor is the same as the one that does duty on the Vista, the Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) will hopefully endow the sedan with the edge it needs in the sub-4 metre segment. The other motor, the 1.2-litre Revtron, is Tata's all-new turbocharged small sized engine that, in the company's own words, has been 'designed to deliver superior performance, power, torque and mileage'.

In what looks like an attempt to regain lost ground, Tata has finally come up with a genuine product that will give it a fair claim in the market. It looks good, has competent engine options, and an impressice cabin with class-leading features. Now the only thing left to do is to wait and see if the upcoming Tata Zest will help the company with the comeback it is looking for.
