The Triumph Street Triple R is the mid-spec variant of the Triumph Street Triple internationally positioned between the RS and the S models. In India though, this is the base version in the Street Triple family below the RS and packs quite a punch on its own. The new Triumph Street Triple R has seen extensive upgrades to its design for a more appealing look, while power now comes from the Moto2 derived 765 cc in-line three-cylinder engine tuned for 116 bhp and 77 Nm of peak torque. While it may miss out on the top-spec hardware, it still gets Showa USD big piston forks and a monoshock RSU. There's also a quickshifter, ride-by-wire with three riding modes, ABS and traction control. At an asking price of Rs. 9.15 lakh (ex-showroom), here's are the two direct rivals to the Triumph Street Triple R.

The BMW F 900 R comes across as an extremely friendly motorcycle to ride

1.  BMW F 900 R

The BMW F 900 R middleweight roadster offers the right kind of muscle in its appeal. The motorcycle gets an exposed engine, fat rear tyre and an aggressive stance. Power comes from the 895 cc parallel-twin engine that is water-cooled and makes 105 bhp and 92 Nm. The bike can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of over 200 kmph. The bike gets USD front forks and a monoshock at the rear, while braking comes from Brembo units. Electronic rider aids are aplenty with ABS, two riding modes with an optional Pro mode, full LED lighting. drag torque control, dynamic traction control, and a 6.5-inch TFT screen. The BMW F 900 R will set you back by Rs. 10.80 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

2. Kawasaki Z900

One of the most friendly middleweight naked motorcycles on sale, the Kawasaki Z900 is sharp as they come and delectable to ride. The bike received comprehensive upgrades for 2021 including riding modes, electronic aids and Bluetooth connectivity. The bike gets four riding modes, three-level traction control and two power modes. It also gets full LED lighting, while running on Dunlop Sportsmax Roadsport 2 tyres. Power comes from the 948 cc in-line four-cylinder engine that develops 123 bhp and 98.6 Nm of peak torque. the engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch. Braking performance comes from dual 300 mm petal discs at the front and a single 250 mm petal disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS. The Kawasaki Z900 is priced at Rs. 8.42 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
