TVS Apache RTR 200 May Get Two Variants; Launch on January 20

TVS Apache RTR 200 has been spied again, this time closer home in India and some details have also been leaked in Indonesia, ahead of the bike' s launch on January 20. For the first time, the full bike has been revealed without any covers to hide the body contours and styling. Although still heavily camouflaged, the Apache 200's design seems to be inspired from the TVS Draken concept unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo.

The Apache 200 is expected to be powered by a new, 200cc single-cylinder, air/oil cooled engine delivering around 25bhp of peak power and 22Nm of maximum torque. While details on variants aren't clear yet, at least two versions are expected to be announced on January 20. One variant is expected to be the standard version with 17-inch alloy wheels, petal discs and TVS tyres. A premium variant is also expected, one featuring Pirelli rubber and dual-channel ABS.
An Indonesia-based automotive website has also posted spy shots of the production-ready TVS Apache RTR 200, showing details of the headlamp and the instrument panel.

The Apache 200 will get a conventional V-shaped headlamp cluster but gets 'eyebrow-like' LED DRL strips, giving the bike an aggressive face. The speedometer is a fully digital white backlit unit with the rev counter limited to 12,000rpm. Other features include a large, standard speedo readout, odometer, clock, fuel gauge and even a selected gear indicator. We expect the Apache 200 to be priced competitively, between Rs 85,000 and Rs 95,000.
